Women’s Leadership Conference held March 1 at Appalachian

BOONE—Noted women’s historian Sally Roesch Wagner will be the keynote speaker at Appalachian State University’s Women’s Leadership Conference “Herstory!2008” Saturday, March 1. She will speak at the conference’s closing banquet in Plemmons Student Union’s Blue Ridge Ballroom. Her talk will focus on the Iroquois influence on early feminists.

Public forum on wind energy in Western North Carolina to be held March 7

Appalachian Symphony performs Feb. 28 with winners of concerto-aria competition

BOONE—Winners of the Hayes School of Music’s Concerto-Aria Competition perform with the Appalachian Symphony Orchestra Feb. 28 at Appalachian State University. The free performance begins at 8 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Rosen Concert Hall. Directing is Dr. James Allen Anderson.
